ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL & GOVERNANCE GRADUATE

  • Competitive salary + benefits + bonus scheme
  • Full-time role – Monday to Friday
  • Genuine career pathway

At Capral, we’re not just shaping aluminium — we’re helping shape a more sustainable future for Australia.

As we continue our ESG journey, we’re investing in the next generation of talent to help drive meaningful progress across environmental stewardship, social responsibility and governance.

Based at our Canning Vale operation in Western Australia, this graduate opportunity will provide hands-on experience in ESG within a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with our ESG team and the Canning Vale Divisional Managers, giving you valuable insight into both ESG initiatives and the day-to-day operations of the site.

Working alongside experienced team members, you will contribute to real ESG initiatives, support decarbonisation and circularity projects, assist with data analysis and reporting, and develop an understanding of how ESG principles are applied across our manufacturing operations.

As part of the role, you will also provide administrative and operational support to the Canning Vale Extrusion Business Manager and other Divisional Managers as required. This will provide broader exposure to site operations and help you develop an understanding of how ESG, operational priorities and business activities work together.

Primary Accountabilities

As an ESG Graduate, you will be supported to develop your skills and experience across a broad range of ESG and operational activities, including:

  • Support the promotion of ESG awareness, sustainable practices and a strong culture of safety across the business.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Canning Vale Extrusion Business Manager as required.
  • Participate in safety audits and assessments and assist with identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of ESG, safety and sustainability programs, training initiatives and plans.
  • Collect, review and analyse sustainability, safety and ESG data to support internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and insights relating to safety, and ESG performance.
  • Support risk assessments relating to site and regional activities, including identifying potential risks and appropriate preventative or mitigation measures.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across Capral to support ESG initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop an understanding of relevant ESG, Workplace Health & Safety and environmental legislation, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety and wellbeing and actively contribute to Capral’s commitment to safety and health.

About You

We are looking for a motivated graduate or early-career professional who is eager to learn, contribute and build a career in ESG within a manufacturing environment.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A recently completed or near-completed tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, ESG, Data Science, Safety, Business, Engineering or another relevant field.
  • A genuine interest in environmental, social and governance practices, sustainability and workplace safety.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in working with data to support informed decision-making.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with people across different areas and levels of the business.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to organise and manage competing priorities.
  • A willingness to learn about ESG, Workplace Health & Safety legislation, regulations and licencing.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with an interest in developing your data analysis and reporting skills.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A high level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Willingness to travel locally and interstate as required.

Previous work experience, internships, vacation programs or university projects relating to sustainability, ESG, safety, environmental management, data analysis or compliance will be viewed favourably but are not essential.

As part of our diversity and inclusion journey, Capral is aiming to increase the representation of women across our businesses. We strongly encourage female applicants to apply for this position.
