About the Role

Capral Aluminium is seeking a Junior Draftsperson / Technical Officer to support drafting, documentation control, and technical activities for new and existing products. You will produce technical manuals, drawings, and other product documentation while assisting with technical support queries from internal and external customers. Working closely with our design and engineering teams, you’ll contribute to accurate documentation, responsive support, and practical technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce drafting and documentation for product designs
• Manage technical enquiries and ensure timely resolution
• Maintain drawing and documentation systems
• Take ownership of assigned technical and documentation tasks
• Contribute to drawing and documentation standards
• Prepare section drawings, manuals, and detail design documentation
• Perform component and extrusion tolerance checks

About You

• Tertiary qualifications or working towards qualifications in Mechanical/Engineering Drafting, Industrial Design or similar
• Basic drafting or technical documentation experience (work placement or project work welcomed)
• Foundational IT skills, including exposure to AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D modelling or Revit is an advantage but not essential
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail with a willingness to learn and improve
• Developing problem-solving skills and an interest in technical work
• Ability to follow instructions, work to set deadlines and manage tasks with guidance
• Good organisational skills and a willingness to learn documentation processes and quality principles

Desirable

• Knowledge of aluminium extrusion documentation
• Experience preparing technical or instructional material
